aia Tsiokou holds a B.A. in Interior Architecture, Applied Arts & Product Design from the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens, and a M.Sc. in Integrative Technologies & Architectural Design Research from the University of Stuttgart. Vaia is a Computational Designer, specialized in bio-inspired integrative design approaches that correlate parametric design with material-efficient, large-scale robotic fabrication in architecture. She has hands-on experience in experimental academic research based on full scale prototyping, and various additive manufacturing methodologies, ranging from coreless filament winding techniques to granular and powder-based material systems. Her current research interests include Hybrid Additive Manufacturing methodologies and Functional Material Systems for indoor environmental quality applications.
