Design, development and evaluation of new advanced functional formulations as feedstock
materials for Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies based on application requirements.
Job’s profile:
• Development of high-performance thermoplastics and photocurable resins
formulations for Additive manufacturing technologies
• Benchmarking against commercial feedstock in terms of performance, both in
processability and final application requirements
• Ascertain appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials to develop
and optimize materials for use in engineering design
• Provides technical guidance and assists AM engineers, when required, to help
them diagnose and solve issues related to materials properties
• Designs and directs the testing or control of processing procedures to optimize the
chemical and materials engineering processes
• Hands on operation of AM systems, troubleshooting and process optimization
• Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art AM technologies & equipment and
applications to meet functionality requirements
• Participate in projects, assist in day-to-day technical implementation activities,
reporting and attend project meetings
• Organized and methodical with a creative approach to solving R&D issues
• Open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
Basic qualifications:
• BSc Chemical Engineering, Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry or similar
• Fundamental understanding of AM processes, material relationships and related
applications
• Expertise in formulating high-performance polymers
• Experience in development and testing of materials for AM
• Excellent communication skills and English proficiency.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• MSc Degree or Advanced Studies in Materials’ Synthesis/ Engineering
• 2+ years hands-on experience in R&D polymeric/composite materials processing
• High level of analytical capability across a range of thermomechanical and
spectroscopic methods
• Project management and reporting previous experience
• Familiar with Design of Experiments (DOE) and process optimization.
